Happy new year! Are you making New Year's resolutions this year? I am making one resolution.
Each day, I will try to improve myself in some way.
I think this will be the hardest, and easiest resolution to make. It will be the hardest because it is something I have to do each day. It will be the easiest because it won't matter how I improve myself. In fact, I will consider it an improvement if I never leave the house with my hair wet. I mean, really, grown women don't leave the house with wet hair. Right?
I may participate in Michelle's 'new month' resolutions, we'll see.
Something else I'm doing is writing a list of books I want to read this year. I got this idea from Jenny's list.
Here are a few that I've come up with.
Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner, Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything
Malcolm Gladwell, Outliers: The Story of Success
Dante, The Inferno
H.G. Wells, The War of the Worlds
Thomas More, Utopia
Chaucer, The Canterbury Tales
and, because of this Lucy Maud Montgomery Reading Challenge,
I'll be reading Anne of Green Gables.
I don't really have a reason for why I've chosen these particular books. There will be others. In fact, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to mention them. I welcome them with open arms.
Last year, I read, among other things, Fahrenheit 451, Alas, Babylon, 1984, The Old Man and the Sea, and To Kill a Mockingbird (arguably the best book I've ever read).
I found a lot of quotes and ideas that I enjoyed reading. Of course, I don't remember most of them. So, I'm also starting a reading notebook. This will help me chronicle what I enjoy most about books. That's all for now.

Hey! Glad you are joining in!
I STILL haven't read 1984 (it's sitting on my bookshelf) OR To Kill a Mockingbird. How sad is that?!
Well, I'll admit that I read To Kill a Mockingbird out of desperation. It was bath time and I wanted a book that wouldn't keep me up all night. Unfortunately, I stayed up 'til 3 reading it. That plan kind of backfired.
As far as 1984 is concerned, I was kind of on a roll. I couldn't read Fahrenheit 541 and Alas, Babylon and not read 1984. ;)
Thanks for hosting!
I'm reading Anne of Green Gables, too! I like your book list - it inspires me to make one also.
